Teresa has been a licensed CPA for more than 22 years. She has always had an affinity for accounting. But more than accounting her passion is in helping people and organization achieve their goals. She began her career with City of Vancouver as an Accountant. Later she joined the Washington State’s Auditor’s office. During her tenure with SAO she provided assurance services through financial statement and compliance auditing as well as conducting federal single audits.
Teresa started the firm, TDJ CPA, due to the growing opportunity she saw to help local governments achieve excellence in financial reporting, navigate the complex and changing governmental accounting environment and to have greater flexibility for her own family.
In her role, as Owner and President of TDJ CPA, she has developed an expertise in governmental accounting and reporting, providing technical consultations on complex accounting and reporting matters such as the application of GASB accounting principles, federal program compliance, and best practice on internal and quality control functions. Over the years as the firm’s reputation and business has expanded, she has had the opportunity to help many local governments such as city’s, housing authorities, port districts and others achieve their goal as their needs and work focuses have changed.
Teresa is a member of the Washington Finance Officers Association and the AICPA.
